More information about our Youth League-
American River Water Polo Club's Youth League is a 5 week session for boys and girls ages 5-13 (not yet in high school)...from beginners to experienced water polo players and everything in between. ARWPC will offer a spring program Arden/Arcade @ Rio Americano HS. This is the best program to introduce kids to the great sport of water polo. We host a youth league program in the Fall, Spring and Summer.
Our Youth League is divided into the following groups: Noodle (ages 5-7), Micro (ages (8-10), and Youth (ages 11-13). Ages are recommended but experience, skill level, and confidence are all considered when determining groups. *Noodle Water Polo utilizes a water noodle float that allows athletes to work on the skills necessary for water polo without the worry of keeping their head above water. Athletes are encouraged to use the float as long/little as they need. It is a tool to gain confidence while working on building skill.
Our sites have included Rio Americano HS, CK McClatchy HS, Del Campo, Bella Vista & Folsom Aquatic Center. Practices are held twice weekly with three "game days" providing a tournament-like environment while playing realistic, yet friendly water polo games. The Game Days are designed to provide opportunities for all sites to get together and play games. Each age group will play a set of games for 1-2 hours depending on the age group and the number of athletes registered.
New athletes are encouraged to attend our Free Introductory Clinic to get a feel for water polo. Our free Introductory clinic is held prior to the beginning of a session. Returning players are welcome to attend the clinics as well (bring a friend!). These low pressure clinics are structured to introduce kids to what water polo is all about and help parents know whether there their kids might enjoy a full session of water polo before signing up. Good swimming ability is required. All you need to bring is a suit and a towel. Please register prior to attending to help us properly staff the event.
All participants must be good swimmers (able to swim 25 yards if under 7 years old; 50 yards for ages 8 and up). This does not mean that participants must be expert swimmers by any means. If you have doubts, try a free clinic or simply sign-up and use the first couple practices as a try-out to see if your child is comfortable in the water.

Program cost: $90 for ages 5-7 and $175 for ages 8-13. Program cost includes all practices, game days, insurance and a t-shirt for each participant.

NOTE: We do not bill for the youth league until after the first week to ensure that you are enjoying our youth program and wish to continue. We will apply all sibling discounts prior to billing. Sibling discount policy: first participant pays full price; 20% off for 1st sibling; 40% off for 2nd sibling. Include a note in your registration form and we will apply the sibling discount prior to billing.
